Marshall McDonald is currently a full-time Institute teacher for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the director of the Taylorsville Institute Singers and Choir.
He is an accomplished musician with numerous bestselling albums and sheet music books. He has soloed with orchestras across the country and was honored to perform his acclaimed arrangement of “If You Could Hie To Kolob” as a guest soloist with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir on its weekly broadcast of Music and the Spoken Word. His music was recently featured in the films “17 Miracles” and “Ephraim’s Rescue” and he has recently arranged several songs for the “Piano Guys” Paul Cardall, Lexi Walker and Studio C. He was asked by the church to write and arrange the music for the “Share the Gift” Christmas social media campaign and found a way to involve The Piano Guys, David Archuelta, Peter Hollens and the Tabernacle Choir all together. The Youtube video broke a world record for the largest live nativity gathering.
He graduated from the University of Utah with BA degrees in Music and Communications and his Masters degree in Public Administration. He and his wife, Kristien live in Riverton Utah with their 5 children.
